Building Technique

I wanted to try different techniques to create buildings, so I tried printing out a building and cutting out some windows and placing a light behind it. I don't really like how it turned out, plus there are all theses complications that just are impossible to work out. For example, this technique only works for night scenes (which I don't have), its too flimsy, it doesn't stand properly, and the scale is too small.
